The South End art scene continues to grow and excited for Charlotte ARTery to have found a new home in South End with plans to celebrate their Grand Opening at this Friday’s November Gallery Crawl. As taken from their website the “Charlotte Artery is an artist run community that leverages marketing and business resources to provide a venue for emerging and mid-career local artists”. It is their mission to foster a cohesive art scene, provide studio and exhibition space and forger cooperative relationships with other art organizations and galleries in the Greater Charlotte Area.
There new space is located at 1515 South Mint Street which is close to the corner of Summit Ave and S Mint Street (right next to the BMW mechanic shop on the corner). I stopped by last Thursday afternoon as they were setting up for this Friday’s exhibition. It’s a large space with three different exhibition rooms and space in the back for studio. My pictures are “in process” so you will need to stop by this Friday to take in the full show.
