$15,000 Purse for this years Carolina’s Got Art! Exhibition

I am excited to share with you that Carolina’s Got Art! Exhibition is returning in 2013 with a huge $15,000 purse!. This art exhibition and sale is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the incredible art work from both North and South Carolina. South End has the largest concentration of art galleries in Charlotte and it’s only fitting that this show have it’s home at the Elder Gallery in Historic South End. Carolina’s Got Art! is proud to be one of the largest, if not the largest, juried arts exhibitions and sales in the southeast. Fashioned after the Springs Mills shows of the 70s and 80s, we provide a platform for any NC or SC artist to compete and share their unique talents across our two states.  And by increasing our purse to over $15,000 in cash and prizes, we add significant financial support to the artist community as well!

We are proud to announce the date of the 2013 main show, which will open on Friday, May 3 at Elder Gallery’s new location in Charlotte’s South End and the Salon show will immediately follow in June – giving two separate opportunities to be selected!

But don’t let our location mislead you, this is not a show just for Charlotte artists, it’s a show for any Carolina artist! No single region represents the quality and variety of art in the states, which was proven out in 2010 with 80% of winners from outside of Charlotte.  In our effort to continue to attract the best artists in 2013, we will come to you to pick up your work if chosen for either show (CGA! or Salon)!  Have a look at details on our Intake link – we are very excited to have added this convenience.

Due to overwhelming support for “Through The Juror’s Eyes,” a virtual display and sale of all pieces submitted to the juror, we will continue that this year as well.  Obviously, if an artist chooses not to participate, we will honor their wishes.  For all artists, this offers yet another avenue to display and sell work whether selected to the CGA! or Salon shows!  We are thrilled to offer this to our community!
