South End continues to welcome new businesses and with a growing residential population of 3,200 plus and 8 new residential projects in the works. We will continue to see more businesses, restaurants, bars, and retail shops moving into the neighborhood in order to support this growth and because it is an innovative, creative urban neighborhood that’s just a fun place to be. There was a terrific story by WCNC, “Business in Charlotte’s South End on the Rise” that reflects the current growth we are seeing but also wanted to welcome a new startup company to South End, Tire Intelligence LLC.
One thing there seems to be no shortage of these days is data or information, and its the organization and accessiblity of this information that is prompting the creation of many new start-ups like Tire Intelligence. So what is Tire Intelligence? Simply put, their mission is to become the trusted source of Tire Information for Tire Professionals. Led by CEO, Eric Chaniot, Tire Intelligence will eventually create 30 jobs and is currently on hire #13 (I like how they are celebrating their hires on their website). Their headquarters will be in the heart of South End in the Steel Yard building (next to Sullivan’s) with an anticipated move in date of early June. I stopped in their new space last week to take a few pictures. It’s an empty shell so nothing too exciting at this point but definitely has some nice views and you can see the potential for a great space. Stay tuned for more details and make certain to visit their website to learn more. Welcome to South End!
