You may have heard some buzz about a bottle shop opening in South End, and I want to confirm those rumblings are true and welcome Good Bottle Company to South End. Good Bottle is under construction at the corner of Remount and South Blvd and plans to be open late summer.
I stopped in yesterday to talk with owner, Chris Hunt and snap a few pictures. I love getting the under construction or as I like to call the vision to reality stage of a new business. There is so much work that goes into the opening of any small business that once you begin to see the tangible mainfestations of your ideas and dreams it gets very exciting. Chris spent 9 years in corporate development for the American Cancer Society and is now living out a dream to own and run a bottle shop.
Some of you may be asking what a beer bottle shop is and my answer is a speciality retail shop dedicated to the education, celebration, experience and sale of craft beer.
In a recent interview with CharlotteBeer.Com when asked “Why South End?”, Chris said, “SouthEnd has quickly become a destination for craft beer in Charlotte. Common Market, World of Beer, The Liberty and Mac’s Speed Shop have been exposing people to craft beer through tastings, beer pairings, dinners and plenty of other events. We are excited to join the community and continue to help make South End and Charlotte known for craft beer.” Well said! To read the full interivew go to Charlotte Beer . Also, you can visit Good Bottle Company on tumblr and follow them on Twitter.
Welcome to South End and look forward to your opening!

From the front doors looking in.
Chris had just unloaded these reclaimed materials from an old barn which will be used for their bar.
Here is the bar…imagine 10-12 taps and the reclaimed barn materials from the previous picture.

Right next to the Silos of South End where there are 4 residential developments currently under construction.
