Wanted to share this update from our fellow neighbors in Dilworth. It’s exciting to see their Sculpture Project come to life. The following update was taken from The Dilworth Express email newsletter.
Dilworth to Celebrate Sculpture Installation Sunday!
We hope all of our Dilworth families will stroll, bike, skip, scooter or drive to Romany and Dilworth Roads this Sunday, 12/2 at 5PM to create another Art Mob—-this time for the Grand Ribbon Cutting of the Dilworth Art Sculpture!
Look for the sculpture to be installed beginning tomorrow—the perfect holiday gift to Dilworth and Charlotte.
There will be s’mores for all, apple cider, luminaria, the fire truck, and the street closed long enough for us to celebrate the grand achievement that started out as just a vision nearly 2 years ago.
Everyone will have a chance to sign the outdoor banner showing you were there at this most important moment in our history. The banner will be displayed in the Sykes Center, with the ultimate intent of burying it in a time capsule. You, your kids, your dog…..everyone will want their name preserved on this special remembrance of the occasion.
Don’t miss the celebration of a grand community achievement! The perfect family kick-off to the holiday season, and a lifetime memory for your family.
(Thanks to Andrew Roby, Harris Teeter, Lowe’s and CMPD’s Officer Gilliland for their help! And stay tuned next week for information on a video of this project that will be available for purchase—-the perfect stocking stuffer for your family!)
