April First Friday Gallery Crawl in South End has some new features and great opening exhibits so hope you will come join us.
We’ll have maps and information about the gallery crawl at 2 locations…Atherton Mill and Food Truck Friday lot so just look for the branded South End tents.
We are continuing with the Free South End Gallery Crawl Walking Tour for April as these tours have become very popular. April’s walking tour will take a slightly different route as we will start at Atherton Mill and work our way down Camden Rd. We’ll see some special features and some new galleries not featured on previous tours. It’s free to attend but you must RSVP and space is limited!
In addition to the Gallery Crawl, South End offers a wide range of dining options from great local restaurants to Food Trucks. Feel free to check out Sullivans, Carrabas, The Liberty, Pike’s, Big Ben’s, Icehouse, Zucca’s Pizza, Mac’s, Phat Burrito or Common Market before, during or after the Gallery Crawl. Lots of other shops are open for you to explore between galleries as well so come make a night of it!

Elder Art Gallery – Daniel Bayless, New Paintings January and February. Bayless is a native of Texas and has lived and worked in New York City and currently maintains a studio in San Francisco. Our exhition contains all new paintings reflecting a new direction for the artist.

Charlotte Art League “Spring Into Art” Annual Juried Art Show
“Spring Into Art” exhibit this Friday, April 5th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at theCharlotte Art League Gallery (1517 Camden Road).
Juror for the Show is Christie Taylor.
After winning a blue ribbon for her drawing, Day at the Circus, at age 7, Christie’s parents framed it and hung it on the wall in their home. Their simple gesture of appreciating their daughter’s creative expression – was witness enough for Christie to devote her life’s work to helping others explore self-discovery through images.
As co-owner of Hodges Taylor Gallery for 33 years, Christie Taylor has earned well-deserved recognition for her dedication to the visual arts, business entrepreneurship and community service.
Christie received a B.A. in Art from Queens College in Charlotte and attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia, She managed Art Gallery Originals in Winston-Salem and McNeal Gallery in Charlotte prior to her 33 year partnership with Dot Hodges with Hodges Taylor Gallery

Hidell Brooks Gallery is celebrating their fifteenth year anniversary with a special group exhibition in our newly renovated and expanded gallery. All gallery artists have created new works to commemorate our 15 years in the arts. We have continued with our tradition of introducing artists rarely exhibited in north carolina. This exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to view works by all of our artists who will be having upcoming solo exhibitions in the next several years.
