Gallery Crawl and Food Truck Friday Tonight

Hopefully you had a great Fourth of July and enjoyed one of the many great fireworks shows over the last two days. If you have friends and family in town and looking for something fun and a little unique to do with them tonight…come to South End for Gallery Crawl and Food Truck Friday.

Gallery Crawl is on the First Friday of every month. Occasionally, the First Friday falls on or near a holiday and while we don’t change the Gallery Crawl date, some of the galleries choose to host their opening receptions the week after First Friday. That is the case for tonight but there are a few galleries open you will want to check out and they are all in easy walking distance of one another.

Lark and Key Gallery & Boutique

Elder Gallery

Charlotte Art League

Ciel Gallery & Mosaic Studio

Food Truck Friday is a great event for the whole family. It’s encouraged that if you can take light rail, walk or bike to the event that you do so. Parking is available and is free on street but some private parking lots could charge a small fee to park. If you take light rail and get off at the Bland St Station,  you will be right in them middle of all the festivities from food to galleries.

Seating is limited but we encourage folks to bring blankets and bag chairs. Alcohol may be purchased from Common Market or Phat Burrito, brought un-opened to the Food Truck lot where it can be consumed. You cannot leave the Food Truck lot with an open container.

  2. Hello,

Do you have a complete list of galleries in south end, or is it just the four noted in your newsletter? KS

    • In addition to those listed there is Hidell Brooks Gallery, Dilworth Artisan Station (20 studios), Charlotte ARTery and we have a variety of places that host artists regularly through the year like Escape Hair and Skin Studio, Bang & Olufsen, The Boulevard at South End, Black Sheep Skate Shop, and the Atherton Market has been hosting a quarterly art market.

  3. Thanks for posting this! I always seem to miss the gallery crawl… do you know if ALL of the galleries will be open next week, or just the ones that are absent from today’s crawl?

    • All the galleries usually have weekday regular hours but all of them don’t stay open later on Fridays regardless of First Friday. I would check each gallery just to confirm so you don’t show up and they aren’t open.
